Wine is the most precious fruit grown in our mellow fertile lands, a splendid setting that inspired poets such as Matteo Boiardo and Ludovico Ariosto, steeped in history and still alive with echoes from the age of Mathilda of Canossa, nine hundred years ago.
Our grapes have been grown on the slopes where the Tresinaro Valley meets the river Secchia, taking advantage of the clay-rich soils, the correct exposure to the sun and a mild microclimate ideal for growing grapes.
This is the natural scenic setting where the Casali Viticultori wine-making firm has flourished for over a century, and where it still has its base in an outlying hamlet of Scandiano called Pratissolo, charmingly derived from the Latin prata solis, meaning fields of sun.
Also among these treasures, our wines: Lambrusco, Spumanti, the Bianchi Classici di Scandiano, the Reserves and the Malvasia. Full-bodied structures, richly perfumed and lively chromatic tones of colour. Direct and authentic. Warm and enfolding. Like only Emilian wines can be. Or else elegant and harmonious, fitting companions for the most sophisticated haute cuisine dishes.
In recent years we have joined forces with other local producers in supporting the Compagnia della Spergola, a project that aims to protect and promote this small but priceless local heritage. Among the firm’s wines, four different products are made exclusively from Spergola grapes: two spumantes – Ca’ Besina and Villa Jano – and two Scandiano whites – Albòre Secco and Albòre Dolce.
Podere La Marronaia
Podere la Marronaia vineyard began in 2000 when the Dei family purchased this property immersed in the countryside of San Gimignano. This purchase wasn’t only professional but a personal one with a new style of life, and for this reason Podere la Marronaia farm is mainly a family run business and is strongly rooted in the territory.
It is located in the midst of vineyards and olive groves, on top of a hill, near the town of San Gimignano. The company distinguishes itself in the agricultural sector for the production red and white wines and olive oil of excellent quality, all following the methods of organic production.
The products are certified with biological agriculture origin, Sot Icea Toscana
Cantina Teanum
Cantina Teanum is a group of wine loving entrepreneurs from Puglia who want to show the world the best or our region has to offer.
We have 120 hectares of estate vineyards which are distributed in five locations called Predictatella, Ricci, Zecchino, Coppa Castello and I1 vignale respectively. At the moment we produce several varieties: whites - we have Bombino, Falanghina, Trebbiano and Malvasia; reds - we have Aglianico, Primitivo, Negroamaro, Syrah, Nero di Troia, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Montepulciano and Sangiovese.
The construction of our winery has been recently finished and all our bottled wines are produced in it. The winery counts with the most modern technology so as to give our wines an excellent enological quality. The cellar of the winery is underground in order to give our wines a better care during the process of ageing.
